Set to hit a top of 28 degrees in Ballarat, sunscreen and hats are the fashion tip of the day, but it's the yellow lanyards that have everyone excited.
One of the first beer festival fans to get stuck into the tasting is Ballarat's Dana Ellis who is here with her husband to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.
For Mrs Ellis who has returned to the festival for a second year, it was hard to go past a cider which she said had already made this year's festival better than the last.
"When we heard the cider orchard was here this year we were sold," she said.
"There is always a fantastic atmosphere, the music is good and it's a real easy going day."
With the weather in fine form, brewers were already experiencing queues with their tents expected to be empty by the end of the festival.

Lucky Duck Cider Company had 10 kegs at the ready with crowds streaming steadily through the gates for a taste.
"It got busy quickly and there are a good mix of locals and those who have travelled here," Lucky Duck Cider Company's Colby Kitchin said.
Returning for a second year, the Lucky Duck Cider Company team are preparing themselves for a very busy day.
"We were not here last year but the year before and we went through heaps of stock."
Seats are filling quickly, particularly around the stage where Timberwolf has taken to the stage. Festival-goers will also have the chance to hear from The Delta Riggs, Way of the Eagle and Ash Grunwald later in the day.
But for those here for the brew there are more than 40 brewers on deck with the addition of a games garden, children's area and education sessions held throughout the day.
