A cyclist has died after being hit by a car in Malvern on Wednesday morning.

Police said the collision happened on Dandenong Road at 8.35am, about 300 metres east of the Tooronga Road intersection.
The 70-year-old male cyclist was taken to The Alfred hospital with life threatening injuries but was pronouced dead on Wednesday afternoon.
Police reported the car was travelling east along the service road when the cyclist entered the road from the footpath.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the man was unconscious when paramedics arrived and had sustained serious head injuries.
Police said the 33-year-old driver of the car was uninjured. She is helping police with their enquiries.
