Ex-Rebel Jed Adcock loses Brisbane Lions captaincy

FORMER North Ballarat Rebel Jed Adock has lost the Brisbane Lions captaincy.

Tom Rockliff is set to be formally announced as his successor on Thursday afternoon.

Adcock led the Lions for two years.

He was joint captain with Jonathon Brown in 2013.

He assumed the position by himself last season.

The made the defender turned midfielder was just the third sole Brisbane skipper since the 1997 merger with Fitzroy - after Michael Voss and Brown.  

Adcock from Maryborough is reported to be moving into a mentoring role for young players.

He debuted with the :Lions in 2004 and has played 185 games.
