The Red Devils will face off against an All Star outfit from the BDSA in the first ever Friendship Cup on Tuesday, February 3, at Morshead Park.
The idea blossomed between Red Devils coach James Robinson and BDSA president Herman Bogers, with proceeds to go towards support organisation MND Victoria.
“We always wanted to give something back (to the community) and Herman’s been a great believer in it,” Robinson said.
“I’ve got a close friend and former soccer player who’s battling it at the moment.
“We want to create a lot more awareness through the community.”
Robinson said the match had the added benefit of allowing the best players in the BDSA to test themselves against the National Premier Leagues One outfit.
“It’s also about giving the local players a platform and see how close they are to the Red Devils,” he said.
