Carroll, 24, competed in the National Table Tennis Athletes with a Disability Championships during the Australia Day weekend in Hobart, winning a gold and two silver medals for his efforts.
Competing in the class 11 singles, open singles and class 11 team events, Carroll put in what he described as “some of the better games of table tennis I have played”.
He won a gold medal in the mixed doubles and finished second in both the singles and the teams event for Victoria.
In the singles division, Carroll reached the final, only to be beaten by world number three player Sam von Einem.
“I was really happy with how the tournament went,” the WestVic Academy athlete said.
“There was a lot of hard work that went into it and I think the way I played was a good reward. It was one of my better performances recently; I felt like I played almost as well as I have before.”
