They have been distributed to schools throughout Ballarat, Moorabool, Golden Plains, Pyrenees, Hepburn, Northern Grampians and Ararat shires.
The foundation’s chief executive officer, Geoff Sharp, visited Delacombe Primary School on Friday to hand over some of the final vouchers.
“Focusing on the overall wellbeing of each and every student is not a new concept to the school setting. However, the needs of some students and their families can often outweigh the resources that are available to the dedicated staff at our local schools,” Mr Sharp said.
“The uniqueness of this program is that the local school allocates the vouchers to those families they know will benefit greatly from this assistance.
“The assistance will provide children with some necessities, such as underwear, shoes or a backpack as they return to school.”
Mr Sharp said the vouchers complemented other programs at Delacombe Primary School that focused on pupil wellbeing, such as the Brekky Club and the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden.
