A train driver has been unable to continue his job after a near miss with "unauthorised persons" on a rail track near Toorak.

At 5:30pm Sunday the Metro website was warning of 15 minute delays in both directions on the Cranbourne, Frankston and Pakenham lines.
It said the driver had to be replaced with another operator after the incident.
Police were required to check the area.
Meanwhile, lighting has caused a suspension on the line between Newport and Werribee and buses have replaced the route between Elsternwick and Sandringham after an overhead power issue.
Buses are also expected to replace the service on the Werribee line.
