Hundreds of people will flock to the small town for the annual match-making event, with last year’s event attracting double the town’s population of 350.
Kieran Sullivan will be returning to the event with a few mates, all curious about what the night may bring.
He grew up just outside of Wallace in Millbrook, but now lives in Ballarat.
His brother met a girl at Wallace Wants a Wife a few years ago – they fell in love and are still together.
“A few of my mates hadn’t been before, so we decided to go and see what it’s all about,” Mr Sullivan said.
“I’m keeping a pretty open mind. Whatever happens happens. We’ll just see who’s there.”
There have been 11 marriages, 15 engage-
ments, two babies and many other successful unions and friendships come out of the event.
Wallace Hotel pub-
lican Andrea Wilson said it had been four years since the first event that kickstarted a small-town tradition.
“Wallace Wants a Wife is a fun night, just like going to a local pub, but everyone is single, friendly and out to have a good time,” Ms Wilson said. “The key to the night is about having a bit of fun. Don’t take it too seriously.”
