"I'm very happy. No complaints there," Alexander said.
Renew is drawn to give the group 2 event a major shake third run into this campaign after landing gate two.
The Ballarat trainer is confident jockey Chris Symons will be able to settle Renew at the business end of the field.
"He'll be prominent," Alexander said.
"He likes the hustle and bustle not too far away from the pace."
Renew won the Sandown Cup at the end of the spring after finding his way into the top six of the 3200m staying test.
Alexander set Renew for the Adelaide Cup immediately after the Sandown Cup success.
Renew joined Alexander's stable just days before running in the Caulfield Cup after arriving in Australia from England for the spring - making this his first full preparation in Ballarat.
He has had two starts since resuming for a last over an unsuitable 2000m at Flemington and then an improved sixth to the Darren Weir-trained Taiyoo in the listed Torney Cup at Moonee Valley.
Alexander said Renew had progressed smoothly.
"He was unfit first-up and began to warm up in second run when he gave away weight to everyone else but the winner."
Renew has since had a track gallop at Bendigo to round out his preparation for his pet distance.
Alexander said Renew would travel to Adelaide on Saturday night before trotting of a pony on Sunday and Monday.
Renew is equal second favourite at $5 with the Tony McEvoy-trained Lucky Lucky with TAB.com.au behind Taiyoo ($3.60).
Taiyoo is chasing a sixth consecutive win in what has been a super run of form.
Alexander and Weir also solid hands at Flemington today.
Alexander, who has 30 in work, has two starters in the listed $120,000 Roy Higgins Quality, 2600m - Martinvast and Only A Pleasure.
They will clash with iron horse Tuscan Fire, which will carry the top weight of 58kg.
Tuscan Fire has had a second and three thirds in his latest four runs for Ballarat trainer Dan O'Sullivan.
Alexander also has Amorino in the group 3 $150,000 TAB Rewards Stakes, 1400m.
STRATUM Star will give Darren Weir a serious throw at the stumps group 1 $500,000 Australian Guineas, 1600m.
The son of Stratum has been ultra consistent for the stable - not missing a top three finish since crossing from Rick Hore-Lacy's team mid-last year.
He won three times and was second in his other three starts in the spring, and has returned with a first-up second and third in the group 3 $150,000 CS Hayes Stakes, 1400m.
Startum Star is an $8 chance and from barrier four jockey Brad Rawiller should have able to put in right in the race.
