Brian Johnson, who has tipped in $1000 for me to punt with in a bid to raise money for Riding for the Disabled Association of Victoria, owns a share in David Hayes and Tom Dabernig-trained Firehouse Rock, who lines up in the group 1 Australian Guineas at Flemington.
Johnson's son Adam Talbot is also in the colt, who ran 11th in the Victoria Derby last year and is a $41 shot on the TAB for Saturday's $500,000 race.
Reflecting on last week, and it was again the quaddie that saved us from embarrassment.
Best bet Dissident went under, as did the each-way on Chester Road, but we collected $222 from 8.92 per cent of the Caulfield quaddie to take the total money raised for charity to $342.
We have two weeks left of the #RDAChallenge, with this Saturday's meeting followed by the Australian Cup card, also at Flemington, the following weekend.
BEST BET
Profit Share (Flemington, Saturday, R3#1)
Getting pretty deep into the preparation, but have a lot of time for this galloper. Not convinced about these blinkers as he has failed to settle in three runs in them, but hit the line nicely latest after a good win at Sandown. The return to Flemington is a tick and think his best is good enough to win this despite 60kg.
BEST EACH-WAY
Flamberge (Flemington, Saturday, R8#1)
Backing trainer Peter Moody has got the horse right after he was scratched from the Oakleigh Plate - where he was well in the market - last week. His first-up effort when run down in the shadows of the post by star Chautauqua was tremendous and that pair beat the rest comfortably. Reckon he's hard to beat if right.
EXOTIC
Quaddie (Flemington, Saturday, R6-9)

Had a bit of luck with these the past two weeks so we might as well keep going.
Again, there's nowhere to really narrow this down and think the Australian Guineas is a lottery, so let's just hope we can snare a small percentage and that should be enough for a nice profit.
