Watch on QUICK SHAKES (trained by Simon Morrish) first-up R6 at Stawell on Monday. Had big campaign early in the year with three wins and metropolitan placing. Will improve on what ever his does.

# RACING returns to Ballarat on Sunday with an eight-race program, with the first at 12.30pm. Rain has seen the track downgraded from slow7 to heavy10.

# MULTIPLE United States group 1 winner Winchester will have a track gallop on the course proper about noon as he prepares to make his Australian debut for the Flemington/Ballarat stable of Malua Racing’s John Sadler.
Winchester s nominated for the Caulfield Cup.
# 2009 Geelong Cup winner Leica Ding is on the comeback trail and aiming at her second Melbourne Cup start. Darren Weir sent Leica Ding around in the 2009 Melbourne Cup. She has had just the one start since, back in early 2010. The eight-year-old mare passed he first public test when she trialed at Ararat on Thursday.
# AUSTRALIAN Thoroughbred Bloodstock’s Unusual Suspect makes his return to Australian racing in the listed Slickpix Stakes, 1700m, at Caulfield on Saturday. ATB purchased about a 50% share in the US stayer before the last year’s Melbourne Cup, in which he finished ninth. Cranbourne trainer Mick Kent campaigned the now nine-year-old in Dubai early in the year. He has trialed twice at Cranbourne, putting in solid efforts.
