Brown Hill has ousted Wendouree from the title chase for a second consecutive finals series.

Bulls' quick Shane Harwood destroyed the Red Caps in a seven-wicket haul - five taken when play resumed on day two.

The Red Caps resumed their chase at 3-49 and the Bulls took 28 early Sunday afternoon to polish off the job.

Golden Point came crashing down - and fast - after tea break on Sunday.

Point had look well in control and almost cruising going into tea, despite losing opener Andrew Falkner on 54 runs just shy of the break.

The Pointies got a little too fancy and the Naps' spinners got the better of them.

Justin Ringin pulled Point apart in a 6-46 haul while captain Carman Mapatuna took four.

Point had finished the season at the top of the BCA firsts ladder. This is the Pointies first loss since round one.

SEMI-FINAL RECAP - DAY ONE

GOLDEN POINT v NAPOLEONS-SEBASTOPOL 189 (Luke Corden 43, Liam Rigby 43, Neil Chalmers 41; Pete Appleton 5-51, Simon Ogilvie 4-24) at Eastern Oval

OPENING bat Neil Chalmers got things started.

Liam Rigby and Luke Corden backed up his work and Napoleons-Sebastopol has a healthy 189 runs on the board.

Will this be enough?

Naps has the bowling bite in the likes of Rigby and Matt Ringin, who mopped up in damp conditions last week with seven wickets. Rain on Saturday night may just work in Ringin's favour again.

Chalmers anchored the innings on Saturday with 41 runs (two sixes, two fours), starting in a 45-run partnership with Matt Ringin who was first to fall, lbw.

Point's Simon Ogilvie struck quickly to oust Chalmers then Jacob Eyers and suddenly Naps was 3-65.

Top-order bat Rigby (43 runs) re-steadied the order then found momentum in a 69-run partnership with Luke Corden (also 43 runs).

Naps' lower order crumbled, mostly at the hands of experienced Point spinner Pete Appleton, who captured 5-51 off his 23.5-over load.

Ogilvie was economical. He took a lean 4-25 off 13 overs (four maidens), all key scalps in Corden, Chalmers, Eyers and Naps captain Carman Mapatuna.

THE difference is 146 runs in this rollercoaster clash.

Wendouree will resume their chase with experienced duo Heath Pyke (22 runs) and Gavin Webb (10) and need to find some batting power through the order. Red Caps' captain Cole Roscholler, Andrew Pitson and Liam Brady all had their chance at the crease cut short.

Brown Hill's returning duo Jack James and Chris Banwell made a massive opening statement with a 99-run stand.

Young Red Cap Tom LeLievre stepped up to knock out James on 49 runs, caught and bowled, then cleanly bowled Bulls' playing-coach Dan Davies without conceding a run.

LeLievre stuck again soon after for another massive scalp in Bull Shane Harwood, who was particularly destructive with the bat last round only to fall cheaply at the hands of LeLievre.

Suddenly the Bulls were 3-107.

Red Cap Eamon Johnson ousted Banwell (50 runs) to make it 4-107 and momentum was in the Red Caps' favour.

It took Jason Knowles (35 runs) to team up with Alex Code (20 runs) to form a steadying 59-run partnership for the sixth wicket and take back some control. But the Bulls' lower order faded quickly and the Bulls were all out inside 60 overs.
