A MAN who was shot at by police on Friday afternoon remains on the run, more than two days after police were unable to catch him during an all-out manhunt.
Police opened fire on the man in East Ballarat about 3.20pm on Friday, before he fled in his car.
The Commodore SV6 was found a short time later, more than six kilometres away, down a dirt track in the Mt Clear area.
Two other males were arrested at the scene, but the main suspect, believed to be aged in his early 20s, is still on the loose.
A police spokeswoman yesterday said there had been “no update” in the search for the man.
His identity is known to police and before the incident he was already wanted for drug and burglary offences.
Dozens of police members scoured different areas of Ballarat looking for the man.
Police searched the area near the Ballarat gold mine, as well as Mt Pleasant and Ballarat East areas.
The police helicopter also circled around Mt Pleasant as part of the search.
It is not known if the man is injured.
The man is described as being caucasian in appearance, aged in his 20s, with a medium build and brown hair.
Police urge anyone with information on the incident or suspect to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
