Opposition Immigration spokesman Marles asserted the Abbott Government "has lost its moral compass".
So easy for Labor to bandy the words "moral compass" and chastise the government for losing theirs, when Labor abandoned their own moral compass upon re-opening the Nauru detention centre.
I challenge any parliamentarian, with any modicum of a moral compass remaining, to use question time and ask, honourably and respectfully: "How many staff from Transfield and how many from Wilsons were removed for misconduct? For each, when was the individual removed, and what was the misconduct that triggered removal?"
If that information isn't provided in full within a week, the past and present ministers and all those involved with creating, negotiating, and monitoring the contracts should be held accountable and removed.
My tax dollars our tax dollars should not pay for dysfunctional contractors.
The government asserts its ongoing confidence in Transfield and Wilsons. Until I see answers, I have no confidence in the government or the opposition they've both tossed their moral compasses overboard.
