Ballarat City firefighters were called to the fire at Eureka Concrete in Latrobe Street about 7pm.
On arrival, crews discovered one of the company’s front-end loaders had caught fire.
Eureka Concrete production manager Jason Beaston said it took crews an hour-and-a-half to extinguish the blaze.
Three workers were on site during the fire, but nobody was injured.
Mr Beaston said an electrical fault in the machine caused the fire.
“The machines are worth about $200,000 to $250,000 ... it will be replaced,” he said.
“There was nobody in the machine at the time.”
Mr Beaston assured the public the company was still in production. “We had people ring in because they were concerned, but we assured them we were still operating.”
Senior station officer Bernie Fradd said two pumpers from Ballarat City and one from Wendouree attended the blaze.
Ballarat City fire crews experienced a busy Monday night.
Crews also responded to a call about a smell of smoke coming from a Mount Clear property at 8.39am.
Two hours later, crews were called to a grass fire in Norman Street, Wendouree, at 10.22pm.
Crews also responded to two alarms at the Queen Elizabeth Centre in Ascot Street in Ballarat.
