9.15AM - DELEGATES from Ballarat District Bowls Division's 24 clubs will today vote on a radical proposal that would change the face of pennant competition.
A statement received from the BDBD outlines the proposal from one club, which if passed, will see all home sides use black bowls and visiting teams coloured bowls during matches.
"The suggestion has merit as it would make it very easy for all bowlers to identify which team was holding shot in the head much easier than the current system involving coloured discs and dots," BDBD incoming secretary A.F. Day said in the statement.
"The format of different coloured bowls for each side is used when playing indoor bowls and has been found to be the most successful."
A decision on the proposal is expected to be made public shortly after noon on Wednesday.
