Police are searching for Rebecca Cheryl Porter, 33,  who is wanted for questioning in relation to an investigation into a series of burglaries, thefts and deceptions.

They are investigating a series of incidents where handbags and personal items have been stolen from patients in public hospitals and other areas and believe Ms Porter may be able to assist with their enquires.

She was due to face Dandenong Magistrates' Court to answer burglary charges on March 2, but failed to appear.

A warrant has been issued for her arrest. Ms Porter is known to frequent the Richmond, Fitzroy and Collingwood areas, police said.
