Written by playwright Matthew Ryan, Kelly wrestles with the themes surrounding an Australian icon.
The story is set the day before Ned Kelly is to hang, with a priest entering his cell to read him the last rites. However, the priest is revealed to be Dan Kelly, the brother thought to have died at Glenrowan.
Dan is desperate and needs one last thing from his brother, but Ned refuses him.
The 80-minute play weaves Kelly fact, theory and myth, while exploring masculinity, brotherhood and mateship dynamics.
Playing Ned is Matilda award-winning actor Steven Rooke, while the other cast members are Kevin Spink and Anthony Standish.
Kelly will be performed at 1pm and 7.30pm. Tickets cost $50 for adults and $40 for members. Concessions are $45, child/student $15, group $40 and family $110. Contact 5333 5888 or hermaj.com.
