FOR the fifth year in-a-row, a member of the Walker family will compete at the Victorian Primary Schools Golf Championship finals.
Following in the footsteps of older sisters Sarah and Rebecca, Anna secured a spot in the event following her win in the girls’ regional qualifier at Midlands Golf Club last week.
Anna, a Grade 6 pupil at Skipton Primary School, also reached the state final last year.
All three girls have gained an interest in the sport through their father Russell, who helps out as their caddy, and from the sporting program at their primary school.
“We go off at lunch times to our local golf club with our teacher and we do some driving, chipping or putting,” Anna said.
“I like just getting out there and having a go.”
The state final will be played at Kooringal Golf Club on Monday.
It will feature 10 children from other Ballarat district primary schools who progressed via the qualifying rounds.
