Who Remembers the Great War? has already proven to be a talking point among the audience on the opening night at the weekend.
Performed by Ballarat National Theatre and directed by Peter Nethercote, Alexandra Meerbach and Paula Heenan, the show delves into varying perspectives of Australians during World War I.
BNT’s Jessica Taylor said the performance was an opportunity to learn more about the war from different perspectives and reflect upon the men and women who participated in it.
“It’s nice to have something that commemorates 100 years of the Anzacs, but not just the theory side of it,” she said.
“Some of the pieces are done in a light-hearted way with songs, poems and one-act plays.
“It’s not just about the men and women who served but the other people who were left behind as well ... everyone is touched by war.
“It’s a great opportunity to reflect on what people have done for us.”
Who Remembers the Great War? is being performed at the Courthouse Theatre from April 4 to 10 at 8pm, with a matinee performance on April 11 at 2pm. Tickets are $25 or $20 for concession, available on the door or online.
