Jeff Martin has spent much of 2014 recording and touring and despite just coming off a tour with The Tea Party, he is back on the road for his Returning From The Ocean At The End Solo Acoustic Australian Tour.
Nearly three quarters of the way through his 25-stop tour, Martin is expected to take to the stage at Karova Lounge on Friday night.
"I've played at Karova Lounge in the past, but what's going to be different this time is that I'm going to be performing songs off The Ocean At The End on my own," he said.
He said coming off the back of sold out The Tea Party shows in Australia's capital cities, his solo tour was a chance for fans who didn't get the chance beforehand to get a taste of the new album.
Despite the acoustic version of The Ocean At The End sounding different to the originals, Martin said a solo acoustic performance was always in his mind when producing the album.
"As producer the one thing I kept in mind was that one voice and one acoustic guitar are all the sounds you need and come together without all the bells and whistles."
Fans are in for quite a night with Martin promising a few surprises.
Involved in multiple projects over the previous months with the likes of Mick Skelton (The Baby Animals) and Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus) , Martin said he hopes to share some of their work at his Ballarat performance.
"There are a few things on the horizon ... there are two albums worth of new songs," he said.
The Ocean At The End is the Canadian trio's first album in 10 years and it proved very popular with sold out shows in North America and Australia.
While Marin will perform material from the new album, he is also expected to revisit some classic Tea Party at his Ballarat performance.
