Our family has attended the dawn service at the Cenotaph in Ballarat every year for nearly 60 years.
Sometimes the weather was bad and only a few hundred people turned up, but it was special and we remembered them.
I have observed the increased popularity of the service in recent years and I understand that the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing is special, but why would the RSL change the location of the dawn service at this time?
This year I will be at the same place, same time, observing the same important traditions that we have done for more than half a century
I hope that a few others will join me at the traditional Anzac location at the Cenotaph in Ballarat at dawn.
