MICHAEL Rodger swam away with a bronze medal at the Victorian age short course championships.
He finished third in the boys’ 13 years 200 metres butterfly at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.
Rodger, who swims with Ballarat Gold, came from back in the field to medal.
He was sixth in the 50 and 100 metres.
He climbed to fourth with 50m to swim and then powered into a podium position with 1.64 second to spare.
Rodger had a hectic three-day meet, competing in 10 events, reaching five finals and achieving seven top 10s.
Midlands District Amateur Swimming Association had eight representatives contest finals.
