THE search continues for missing Linton teenager Donald Govan, who disappeared from an Echuca campsite on Saturday night.
The 16-year-old was last seen on Sunday morning, when he visited an Echuca farmhouse to ask for food.
Police said a woman there gave him breakfast, before he told her he was heading to Bendigo and left.
No sighting has been confirmed since.
Donald’s sister Jacinta Jackson said family members had returned to the Ballarat district to be with their sister for the birth of her child, but police were continuing the search.
“The police just told us to be with our family. They said there’s not much we can do on the road,” Ms Jackson said.
“They’ve got people searching up there in Bendigo and the SES have been handing out fliers everywhere and just asking people if they’ve seen him.” Ms Jackson said there had been a number of unofficial sightings of her brother.
“The SES say up to 20 people say they might have seen him at some stage – but none of those sightings are confirmed,” she said.
“None of us have that sick feeling that he’s not coming home, so we’re pretty confident he’ll be okay.”
Donald Govan was wearing a black t-shirt with a Flight Path logo on the front, white board shorts and black runners.
He is described as caucasian, 173 centimetres tall and of slight build.
