Lyle steps up in the absence of the unlucky Bryce Curnow.
Curnow suffered a rib injury at the Selkirk Roosters’ main training session on Wednesday night – ruling him out for the second encounter.
Lyle is in his first year on the North Ballarat list after being part of North Ballarat City’s back-to-back Ballarat Football League premierships.
He goes into the line-up a goalkicking key forward.
Lyle was the BFL’s leading goalkicker last year with 81.
Curnow was on Thursday night the only player who was part of the Roosters’ opening round win over Collingwood missing from an extended squad set to make the trip to Werribee.
As well as Lyle, Michael Powell, Liam Youl, Rowan Marshall, Brody Mahoney, Sam Scott and Tyler Blake have been added to an extended interchange with North Melbourne’s Ben Jacobs and Ryan Bastinac.
Bastinac and Jacobs have also been named on an extended Kangaroos bench ahead of their Sunday clash with Geelong.
Brad McKenzie and Trent Dumont are also in the mix for North Melbourne after catching their eye with the Roosters.
Being the only time North Ballarat and Werribee meet this year, this will be the last occasion they play against each other as teams aligned with North Melbourne.
The Kangaroos will have a total alignment with the Tigers next season, while North Ballarat will go it alone.
Roosters injury update: Bryce Curnow (ribs) 1 week, James Keeble (knee) 2-3 weeks), Jesse Murphy (hip) 5-6 weeks, Mitch Rodd (abductor) 8-10 weeks, Jesse Collins (hamstring) indefinite
