Darley dominated Saturday's Anzac Day clash against Bacchus Marsh.
The visitors led from the start, with only the Devils' inaccuracy keeping Bacchus Marsh in the game.
Darley's Jake Edwards left the ground after six minutes with an ankle injury, only to return and kick two goals for the match, despite looking proppy.
Rhys Ellis and Jordan Spiteri also slotted two majors each for the Devils, while Captain Shane Page defied the wet conditions to look silky, composed and clean whenever he had the ball.
Recruits Andrew Challis and Nathan Lyons broke packs at will as the Cobras struggled to get past the wall at centre-half-back that was Darley Coach Jarrod Edwards.
Bacchus Marsh entered its forward 50 only 12 times after quarter-time, scoring only a solitary behind after the main break.
Cobra Thomas Wardell kicked two of his sides three goals, including a booming reverse torpedo from 50m on the boundary.
Cam Richardson and Liam Mullen stood up well in defense but lacked help.
Dane Grenfell limped off of the field halfway through the last term, favouring his left ankle.
EAST POINT 7.11 (53) d BALLARAT 6.9 (45)
It certainly wasn't pretty, but East Point claimed its first win of the year with a hard fought eight point win over Ballarat.
Played in horrid conditions at Eastern Oval, the Kangaroos kicked the only three goals of the second half, in what was a genuine slog of a day.
Brent Fitzpatrick kicked two goals for the home side, including a telling major in the last quarter that put his side in front.
Drew Murphy and Daniel Tung thrived in the wet conditions, while Bryson McDougall was monumental down back.
For Ballarat, reigning Henderson Medallist Shane Hutchinson clearly stood out as the best player on the ground.
Hutchinson racked up countless possessions throughout the day, while fellow veteran Adam Sewell was also impressive, especially early on.
Youngster Mitch Martin chipped in with two goals, as did James Quayle.
However, the Swans were unable to kick a goal after half time.
East Point now sits at 1-1, while Ballarat is 0-2.
SUNBURY 9.10 (64) d LAKE WENDOUREE 8.11 (59)
Sunbury have held off a fast finishing Lake Wendouree in a thriller at Clarke Oval to win by five points.
Down by as much as 20 points early in the game, the Lions fought back in the second term before Wendouree steadied with late goals to lead by 15 at the main break.
The third quarter belonged solely to the Lions though as they piled on six goals to one through great contested work from Dylan Tarczon.
Jack Sheehan bagged two goals for the term and finished with three for the match.
Lake Wendouree's Luke Bucknall threatened to single-handedly steal the game with the first goal of the final term followed by some brilliant groundwork, but it wasn't to be as the final siren sounded with the ball flying towards Lakers' forward 50.
Sunbury's Josh Guthrie limped from the field in the second term before returning with strapping to his right knee.
MELTON 10.11 (71) d SEBASTOPOL 7.6 (48)
Melton has secured its first points of the 2015 season with a hard fought win over Sebastopol.
The Bloods kicked clear after quarter-time for a 23-point victory.
The Burras started well, leading after the first break with the only goal, but succumbed to Melton's pressure which saw it bag six goals in the second term.
Former North Ballarat Rebel Rowan Marshall starred, booting two goals.
REDAN 8.18 (66) d NORTH BALLARAT CITY 6.5 (41)
Redan has stunned North Ballarat City in torrid conditions at Eureka Stadium.
Inaccuracies aside, the Lions took advantage of the weather to run out 8.18 (66) to 6.5 (41) winners in a big early season upset.
Redan peppered the goals early, leading North by a solitary point at quarter-time after seven straight behinds.
North remained in close contact in the middle stages of the match, before the Lions kicked clear - three goals to two - in the final term.
