On Sunday, August 19, I attended the Emergency Department at Ballarat Health Services Base Hospital.
I was in considerable pain, had a high temperature and went straight into triage.
The first nurse was instantly impressive with her courteousness and direct questions on my condition.
Within 20 seconds she had decided that I needed attention immediately and told me she would put me in a cubicle and have a doctor see me straight away.
The peace of mind for me that I was in good hands was invaluable. It was busy at the time and I was impressed by the efficiency of the staff and the purposeful manner in which they conducted themselves.
It was quite evident that the ED team knew what they were doing.
They do a great job, are cool under pressure and people in the Ballarat and district community should feel reassured that if ever they are in need of the ED at the Base, they will find themselves in very capable hands.
