The woman was the front seat passenger in a red Ford Falcon sedan which was involved in a collision with the number 12 bus in Skipton Street about 1.30pm.
Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen said the woman, in her 60s, was taken to Ballarat Base Hospital with minor injuries. “She’s been thrown around and was complaining of some back soreness,” Mr Mullen said.
He said it appeared the Falcon sedan was cut off by another vehicle near the Bell Street intersection.
“Another car has cut in front of the patient’s car, which has then swerved left into the bus,” he said. The Falcon also hit a pole on the side of the road.
The accident shut both south-bound lanes of Skipton Street, but police were able to keep the Sunday traffic rolling. The bus was relatively undamaged but stopped so police could interview the driver and other witnesses.
CFA also attended the scene. There were no other reported injuries.
