The ACU Sovereigns were quickly brought back down to Earth following their break-
through win over North East Blaze, beaten 76-29 by Victorian Netball League championship ladder-leaders City West Falcons last Wednesday.
Tonight, the Sovereigns take on a Storm side that won the round-four encounter between the two teams 56-34 in February.
Sovereigns assistant coach Kate McMahon said goaler Cynna Kydd would return to the team after missing last week’s game because of an emergency tooth extraction, but was unsure if Melbourne Vixens player Carla Dziwoki would be available.
McMahon said it was an important run home for the Sovereigns, who have a busy week ahead, including games against Geelong Cougars, on Sunday, and Melbourne University Lightning, next Wednesday.
She said the final five rounds were being treated as an audition for next season.
“We are playing to get as many wins in these last few weeks as absolutely possible,” she said.
The Sovereigns 19/unders will also be looking to bounce back after having their seven-match unbeaten run ended by City West Falcons.
