Coach Luke Treacy will lead the first of five training sessions.
The MCDFL has named a 54-strong squad, with Navarre having the biggest representation of 10 players.
Lexton has eight and Carisbrook six.
The MCDFL has again included some of the competition’s best young talent as development players – Dunolly’s Matthew Gibbs, Natte Bealiba’s Trent Mortlock, Navarre’s Billy Parry, and Newstead duo Michael Dalrymple and Joel Smith.
As well as being nurtured, the players will also be eligible for selection.
Treacy said he was excited about the quality and depth of the squad.
“We’ve got several experi-
enced interleague players plus some exciting new additions to the league,” he said.
“There’s a good mix of experience and youth.”
Treacy said his selection panel would also keep an eye on players returning from injury and other recruits who had not yet had much exposure.
The squad will also train on May 6, May 13, May 19 and May 21.
The MCDFL plays Ellinbank and District league at Princes Park on Saturday, May 23.
