Australia's best emerging female players will draw together in preparation for the FIBA world championships in June.
This continues an exciting run for Burton who joined Women's National Basketball League club Melbourne Boomers in the summer and represented Victoria at the Basketball Australia under-20 championships.
Burton will go into the six-day Gems camp at the Australian Institute of Sport from May 22.
Players are set for two to three sessions daily to fine-tune skills, scrimmages and offensive and defensive plays.
Burton toured with the Gems squad to New Zealand last year for the FIBA Oceania tournament.
Gems training commitments mean Burton could miss up to three games with Rush in the South East Australian Basketball League season.
Rush is preparing for a back-to-back matches this weekend, travelling to the Graveyard to face Nunawading on Saturday night and hosting Frankston Lady Blues at the MARS Minerdome on Sunday from noon.
