A strong opening term wasn't enough to see Newlyn keep pace with a powerful Buninyong outfit on Saturday.
The Cats led the Bombers by two points at quarter-time, 15 to 13, but would kick only five more goals for the match as Buninyong wrestled back the ascendancy.
The Bombers' outside run proved to be the difference between the two, with their slick disposal also making life easy for their forwards.
Glen Phelps and Jack Robertson kicked four goals each for the visitors, while Calvin Pane was Newlyn's best.
BUNGAREE 15.17 (107) d LEARMONTH 11.4 (70)
A seven-goal second-term from Bungaree was just enough to keep Learmonth from upsetting the reigning premier.
The Lakies opted to kick with the wind in the opening term and led by 23 points at the first break.
The visitors were held goalless until five minutes into the second term, when Luke Mirtschin's solo effort started what turned into an avalanche.
Bungaree found another gear to hold Learmonth scoreless in the second-quarter.
The match was relatively even in the second-half, with two sides going goal for goal.
Mirtschin finished with four goals for the Demons, while Learmonth's David Box and Brodrick Campbell kicked three each.
CRESWICK 25.17 (167) d DAYLESFORD 14.7 (91)

After a shootout early, the Wickers eventually took control of the game and never looked back.
Liam Hepworth delighted coach Damian Lubeek with his work-rate, while Clint Robinson dominated up forward with eight goals.
For Daylesford, young Eamon McGrath battled hard across half-forward, but it was a day the Bulldogs would rather forget.
WAUBRA 10.18 (78) d DUNNSTOWN 7.4 (46)
Waubra remains undefeated for the season after dismissing Dunnstown by 32 points.
The Kangaroos trailed by a goal after the first break, but turned the tide to restrict the Towners to just seven majors for the match.

Rhys Cahir (three goals) and Evan Mason (two) combined for most of Dunnstown's score.

Mitch and Brad McKay both kicked three goals for the Burras.
BALLAN 18.19 (127) d CLUNES 3.6 (24)

CARNGHAM-LINTON 19.15 (129) d SMYTHESDALE 3.12 (30)

In the end, Dummett's 10-goal haul proved to be twice that of Smythesdale's overall total.
Inaccuracy proved to be the biggest detractor for the improving Bulldogs as they kicked 2.7 in the second-half.
James Nicholls was excellent for the Saints, while Rylan Rattley was Smythesdale's best.
GORDON 29.17 (191) d ROKEWOOD-CORINDHAP 6.3 (39)
Gordon's season continues to gain momentum, with the Eagles securing their third successive win with a 152-point belting of Rokewood-Corindhap.
The home side booted six goals to one in the first term and never looked back, extending the margin to over 100 points at the half.
