A teenage boy has been accused of attacking a police officer in Melbourne's south-east, leaving him with neck and spinal injuries.

The police officer was seriously injured while trying to resolve a dispute between the teenager and paramedics, police said.
The paramedics had been treating the 15-year-old boy in Narre Warren and trying to convince him to go to hospital on Sunday when the disagreement led to police being called to the home.
The teenager then became aggressive with the officers and allegedly attacked one of them, causing spinal and neck injuries, a police spokesman said.
The officer, believed to be in his 20s, was taken to Dandenong hospital with a head injury just before 2am and was listed in a serious but stable condition, an Ambulance Victoria spokesman said.
The boy was later charged with assaulting police and resisting arrest. He was bailed to face a children's court at a later date.
