Tour of the Murray: Shaw out

BALLARAT'S Pat Shaw has crashed out of the Tour of Murray.

Shaw has reportedly broken a clavicle bone in a fall in this morning's eighth stage in Kerang – a 33km criterium.

He began the day in fifth position, having won this tour last year.

Shaw’s Genesys Wealth Advisers teammates Joel Pearson and Anthony Giacoppo are first and second in the National Road Series event heading into this afternoon’s stage at Lake Bolac.

Shaw has had five top 10 stage finishes.

He also heads the king of the mountain title, is second in the sprint championship and fourth in the criterium championship.

The eight-day tour continues with criteriums at Kerang (33km) and Lake Boga (39km) today.
