After receiving my rates notice that have recorded well over a 30 per cent increase I've decided to let my home dilapidate in its aesthetic appearance.
I'll keep it nice on the inside as I always do but I am sorry, you all will have to look at my weeds growing to 60cm high and the paint peeling off my outside walls even though I live on a main entrance road to our "fine city".
I'm sick and tired of having to pay extra if I keep my yard tidy and increase my property value even when I have no intention of selling.
These property prices are only relevant if you are selling or if you are borrowing as a "council" and I'm not mowing my nature strip anymore either, but rest assured I will be phoning every week for it to be mowed by council.
May as well get my money's worth.
