Police manhunt: Green surrenders

THE subject of a massive police manhunt launched last Friday has finally surrendered.

Kyle Green, 25, was flanked by lawyers Mike Wardell and David Tamanika when he handed himself into the Ballarat Police Station this afternoon.

Police shot at Green last Friday during an attempt at arresting him.

He was wanted for questioning by police for drug and burglary offences.

Green did not say anything during the surrender, but Mr Wardell told waiting media he planned to challenge the allegations against his client.

"It is in everyone's interests if the circumstances of the shots being fired are investigated properly," he said.

Police called in the air wing to help search for Green following the shooting, but failed to find him.

Earlier this week, police urged Green to hand himself in peacefully.

He will be interviewed by detectives this afternoon.
