The boxing match between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao has drawn half a billion dollars in pay television revenue, confirming its place as the most lucrative pay-per-view event in history.

The clash, billed as "the fight of the century", took in around US$400 million ($500 million) in television sales in the US, split between the cable channels HBO and Showtime.
Those figures do not include international sales - in Australia, the rights were held by the cable platform Foxtel - or sponsorships and merchandise sales.
The television revenue from the fight comes in addition to some US$71 million (A$88 million) in actual ticket sales at the venue.
The fight had been planned for more than five years and was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, earlier this month.
Mayweather won the contest by unanimous decision.
The previous record was just $US150 million (A$187 million), for another Mayweather fight, between Mayweather and Saul Alvarez, held in 2013.
Pay-per-view tickets for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight cost between $US90 and $US100 ($112 and $125).
The joint venture between HBO and Showtime was required because Pacquiao is contracted to HBO, while Mayweather is contracted to Showtime.
The contract signed by the two fighters carves the money up to $US160 million ($200 million) and above $US180 million ($225 million) on a 60/40 split, favouring Mayweather.

Each of the participants was expected to make more than $US100 million ($112 million) from the fight, a figure which was based on slightly more conservative pay-per-view sales predictions.
The event attracted a large celebrity audience, including Justin Bieber, Andre Agassi, Beyonce and Jay-Z, Donald Trump, Drew Barrymore, Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio.
