Ballarat athletes high in Victorian standings

BALLARAT mother and son Angela and Sam Williams have completed a rare Athletics Victoria double.

Each secured an XCR’12 series individual title.

Angela is the open country women’s champion, while Sam secured the boys’ under-14 title.

Jack Davies completed a Ballarat Regional Athletic Centre treble in the boys’ under-18 division.

The Williams and Davies clinched the championships in the last individual event of the cross country and road series, the Victorian Half Marathon Championship at Burnley on Sunday.

Angela Williams contested five of the six rounds, getting one win, three seconds and a third in the category.
