The under-strength Vikings accounted for Truganina Hornets 3-0 in round five action at St Georges Reserve on Sunday.
The home side started on fire, blowing the hornets out of the contest with a three-goal opening stanza.
Ashley Blackburn gave the Vikings the lead inside the first 10 minutes when she scored from a cross, before Lucy Brennan found the back of the net when she intercepted a goal kick from the Truganina keeper.
Blackburn scored her second shortly after to put the contest to bed almost before it began.
Coach Peter Maggi described his side’s opening stanza as one full of “very good football”.
“Each week we have to start with our A game because we don’t know what to expect,” he said.
“It was good to go that first goal up early, particularly when we were playing well.”
Sebastopol couldn’t maintain its dominance after the restart, with Maggi focusing his efforts on enhancing the team’s flexibility.
“We did have a few opportunities to score, but they tightened up their defence fairly well,” he said.
“We were just trying to rearrange our team and we started moving players around to see if they could play elsewhere, which paid off.”
Emilia Williams flourished with a move to defence, while Gemma Maggi made the move across to the middle of the park.
Kassandra Stabb was also influential.
Maggi said Boag will miss another week, while Williams is set to see a specialist to assess some medial ligament damage.
The Vikings remain unbeaten atop the standings and will play Keilor Wolves in round six this Sunday.
