I DROVE into Ballarat early today (Tuesday) in semi-dark and heavy rain. I saw four vehicles (three approaching) with both driving lights and fog lights operating.

As any policeman can tell you, and the RACV's Royalauto has pointed out, it is illegal to use fog lights when there is no fog; they just add to the glare when roads are awash with heavy rain. Even more troubling, when approaching a roundabout a "wet-road" coloured car came hurtling from my right, with no lights at all a frightening experience in the murky conditions.
There are some drivers out there needing re-education, I think.
