CENTRAL Highlands Football League produced a devastating display to continue its spiral up the AFL Victoria Country Championships rankings on Saturday afternoon.
The Highlanders made it four-straight wins in the championships with a 95-point drubbing of Horsham District, prevailing 22.14 (146) to 8.3 (51).
It was in the first half that the visitors blew the match apart, kicking 12 goals to a single behind to lead by 80 points at the main break.
The Horsham District boys fought back in the third term and closed the gap to 52 points at one stage during the quarter, before the Highlanders powered clear once again.
Springbank tall Michael Searl was named the Central Highlands' standout and won the team's best on ground medal for his display off half back, while Deek Roberts took the spoils for Horsham District.
Bungaree big man Shaun Finlayson was on fire up forward, clunking marks and kicking six goals, while other leading contributors were Dan Wehrung (four goals) and Paul McMahon (one goal) in attack and Brenton Powell (one goal) through the midfield.
There appears to be just the one injury concern for the Highlanders, with Bungaree's Jason Linke coming off late with a hamstring issue.
Meanwhile, the Central Highlands was big winners in the under-17.5 football match, triumphing 15.13 (103) to 5.6 (36).
The senior netballers also won, beating Horsham District by five goals, 33-28.
In the junior game, Horsham District claimed a 29-23 success.
