The coastal team proved far too good for the ladder leader on Saturday, holding firm to clinch a 2-1 victory at Morshead Park.
However, Pyke said the final score arguably failed to do his side justice, given it conced its only goal in the last two minutes of the match.
Earlier, striker Ka Sing Yau took advantage of a crossbar deflection to tap in for goal, before teammate Isaac Slater put one in the top corner to make it a two-goal match at half-time.
A more defensive approach from Warrnambool in the second half saw Vic Park work itself into the game, but it could only manage the goal late in the match.
Warrnambool remains in second spot on the ladder, while Vic Park remains on top after seven rounds.
In other men’s division one games, Ballarat defeated Forest Rangers 3-1, while Castlemaine and North United played out a scoreless draw.
In the women’s division one competition, unbeaten Warrnambool made it a double with nine goals against North United Black, which was still able to find the back of the net four times.
North United White also remained undefeated with a 1-0 victory over Vic Park.
