Parents’ club president Amanda Clark said the 211-pupil school was in desperate need of a supervisor at the Napier Street crossing, but authorities had been “passing the buck”.
She said neither VicRoads nor Hepburn Shire had taken responsibility, meaning pupils’ safety continued to be put at risk.
“The school population has grown by about 50 in the past two years, so it’s just getting worse and worse,” Ms Clark said.
“The amount of near misses you see is scary – it really does terrify me daily.”
VicRoads regional director Ewen Nevett said councils could provide supervisors under the government-funded School Crossing Supervisor Subsidy Scheme.
Hepburn Shire was contacted for comment.
