Saigon Vietnam Noodle House had been set up in Armstrong Street North since last May, but only opened its doors last Thursday.
Ms Chau, the owner of the family business, said she was glad to finally open.
“There were delays with the builder,” she said.
“We were set up for one year and people were asking when we would open.”
The family took ownership of their first restaurant, Ballarat Vietnamese Noodle House, on Lydiard Street, last April.
“This new restaurant is dine-in and BYO,” she said. “Everything is the same on the menu.”
Traditional Vietnamese noodle soup pho is the restaurant’s most popular dish.
Chicken and seafood soups and Vietnamese pancakes are also available.
Ms Chau hoped her Lydiard Street customers would take advantage of the new restaurant.
“We have told them we have another restaurant and asked them to come and try it,” she said.
“(Lydiard Street) is more takeaway and doesn’t have a lot of seats.”
Saigon Vietnam Noodle House can seat up to 50 people.
Ms Chau’s mother, Hung Ho, prepares the soup and Peter Dang is the stir fry chef.
