In what could be the biggest dump of snow in the city’s history, more than 30 cubic metres will be dropped at the club on Sunday.
More than 100 people are expected to flock to the snow-filled extravaganza, which will include a toboggan run and a snow play area on the back lawn.
There will also be a snowman-building competition, free lift passes for Mount Buller offered and a snow-inspired fashions on the field. BTC marketing manager Sally Brooks said the day was about showing people the races could be fun at any time of the year.
“We decided to embrace the Ballarat winter and launch our winter racing season with snow,” Ms Brooks said.
“We wanted to show families they could have a good time at the races any day of the year, regardless of the season.”
Ms Brooks said the club had already sold more than 700 tickets to the event.
As well as snow activities, rides will operate between noon and 4pm in an undercover area, as well as a full eight-race program.
For those wanting to keep warm, the upstairs dining area with glass frontage to the home straight is fully heated.
Tickets cost $30 for families of up to two adults and three children.
Additional tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Gates will open at 11.30am.
