Katrina Martin, with the help of Rachaele May and Shae Hannett, has organised a trivia night to raise money for the Scott family.
The event will be held at the Ballarat Greyhound Racing Club on June 12.
Mrs Scott, aged 28, was told by doctors in April she had two months to live.
It has been less than a year since the mother of two was diagnosed with stage-four bowel and liver cancer.
Mrs Scott was recently put on slow-release chemotherapy to improve her quality of life for her husband Ben and children Harvey, 8, and Archie, 4.
Her friends hope the trivia night will raise enough money for a trust fund for the children.
On Monday, Ms Martin door-knocked Ballarat businesses for donations of auction items for the night.
“At this stage we are looking for bigger-ticket items, like accommodation,” she said.
“Businesses have been overwhelmingly supportive.”
Trivia with a Twist host and teacher Allan Peach will MC the event.
So far, Ballarat Regent Cinemas, Her Majesty’s Theatre, Zaragosa, Flight Centre, Brown Grain, Rumerz Bottleshop, Michael Hill Jewellers and Athletes Foot have donated a series of prizes for the night.
“There would be over 50 prizes donated to date,” she said.
“Every dollar will make a difference in the family’s life. Everything is a bonus.”
Mrs Scott said she was overwhelmed by the support of the community.
“I am surprised, I did not think (the girls) would be able to pull something together like this at short notice,” she said.
“It’s been amazing, I am speechless”.
Three weeks ago, the Scotts received an outpouring of com-
munity support following a plea to help complete their alfresco area.
