Hosted by Ballarat’s YMCA, the WinterFest market is part of a week of celebrations to mark the organisation’s 137th year. The event coincides with the unveiling of the YMCA’s Delacombe community garden.
To help celebrate the occasion, green-
thumbed children will be able to immerse themselves in a range of garden-themed activities, including creating flower collages, learning to harvest vegetables, and games assisting them to identify different fruit and vegetables.
There will be free entertainment for all ages, including live music and face painting.
An eclectic mix of stalls ranging from art and crafts, home-grown herbs and freshly made food produce will also be on offer.
Ballarat YMCA’s director of community and youth engagement Stacey Oliver said the twilight market was a way to bring the community together.
Visitors to the market will be entertained by the Lumen Christi Primary School, Delacombe Primary school and Phoenix College choirs. The Phoenix College Band and Ballarat Mem-
orial Concert Band will also be performing.
There will also be a community barbecue, coffee van and a range of YMCA-run stalls.
The WinterFest market is on Friday at the Delacombe Stadium, 16 Nandiriog Drive, Delacombe from 3.30pm to 7pm.
