A FALLEN Cyprus tree blocked traffic for several hours this afternoon as emegercy crews worked to clear the debris.
The 30 metre tree crashed down along Colac-Ballarat Road just before 1.30pm, one kilometre past the Midland Highway turnoff at Cambrian Hill.
SES crews helped clear the tree from blocking both lanes, before VicRoads called in a private tree removalist to clear the remining debris later in the day.
Police from Rokewood, Bacchus Marsh and Buninyong were on scene helping to divert traffic until 4pm.
An excavator was used to finally clear the majority of the tree from the road.
Police said it was not known what caused the tree to crash.
