Mick Malthouse named new Carlton coach

NORTH Ballarat, St Kilda, Richmond, Footscray, West Coast Eagles, Collingwood and now Carlton.

This is the football journey of three-time premiership coach and new Carlton coach Michael Malthouse.

Carlton has announced Malthouse will fill the vacancy left by the sacked Brett Ratten.

The Malthouse story began in Ballarat.

Growing up in Wendouree, he stepped out as a junior with Wendouree West and then the North Ballarat Roosters.

He is today hailed as one of Ballarat's sporting greats, being a member of the Ballarat Sports Hall of Fame and North Ballarat Football Club Hall of Fame.
