Having read the Web Words column in today's paper (September 6), I would like to say that I find the remarks made by Aussie to be extremely offensive.
How does he know that there are no symptoms caused by wind turbines?
I think it is way past time that all interested parties got together and had some meaningful discussions about all aspects of energy supply, renewable or other.
As for slagging off at the present government's position on the placement of wind turbines, your writer is greatly misinformed.
My understanding is that the present government is not against renewable energy, just the placement of the wind farms, and if these so-called proponents of them went about their agenda with that in mind then we all might just get somewhere productively.
I am not against renewable energy supply. As a matter of fact I encourage it, but not at the cost of dividing society. There are plenty of areas in this country where these energy farms can be built that are amenable to everyone.
